Paying Taxes and Accountancy

 Accountants in Spain are called “contables” but they may work in a “gestoria” or “asesoria” as part of a team helping you with any kind of legal or commercial business or paperwork.
 If you become a resident in Spain, you should complete a tax return form each May/June based on your property, bank accounts and any cars. The tax year in Spain runs from January to the end of December.
 If you are working or have a business here, you will need someone to look after your affairs, help you with VAT returns, social security payments and the yearly tax declarations, just as you would have an accountant in the UK.
