Bank Accounts and Mortgages There are a number of Spanish banks in Orgiva that have a range of accounts to suit most peoples needs. For non residents there are accounts that pay interest, and these accounts are for people who are only in Spain part of the year. For residents there are accounts similar to English banks i.e. current accounts and savings accounts. Some banks have sterling accounts which give you some interest and thus enabling you to transfer money from England and hold it until you want to change your sterling into euros. A lot of mortgages are arranged by banks, and their rates are very competitive in comparison to English banks, but the setting up fees can be quite expensive as the agreement has to be registered at a Notary’s office and all the subsequent legal fees paid. We can advise on these fees and recommend a bank suitable for your requirements. We have found banks in Spain to be very friendly and the small banks still have managers who can help you with personal help and advice . If you would like more information or an introduction, contact us and we will be able to help you. Phone or email for more details and our fees. |
